Save The Past for the Future
I have started a new project that I invite and encourage you to participate in. Having been a history teacher and a conservative I have always been wairy of the changing of history in the name of “multi-culturalism” or “political correctness.” After watching the Glenn Beck Special “The Revolutionary Holocaust” I came to realize that there were things that I had been taught and then proceeded to teach my students about the 1900’s that were not true.
It all comes down to a calculated attack on our educational and legal systems by progressives. Certain history had to be changed so that there was no link between negative figures such as Hitler and the Progressive Movement. Also, certain atrocities committed by communists such as Mao and Stalin had to be “glossed over” so that their political writings could be used without the stigma of a book such as Mein Kampf.
Communists, socialsts, and progressives all share a lot of common goals and philosophies. However, where communists were about change through violent “revolution” progressives want to make the same sort of changes through “evolution” or a slow steady progression. People get turned off by violent revolution, however they don’t even recognize slow incremental change that occurs over decades. The Beatles song Revolution sums it up nicely if you pay attention to the words (something I hadn’t thought about until it was brought up by Beck.) No I’m not saying the Beatles had any sinister goals, this isn’t another “we’re bigger then Jesus” moment. I’m simply saying the song nicely lays out the progressive view of causing change.
For more information on Progressivism read this excellent article by R.J. Pestritto, an author of books on the Progressive era and a professor at Hillsdale College.
So, all that said my idea is to create a specialized wiki to preserve history before it completely disappears. While I do think wikipedia does a decent job of this even though it trends liberal they accept articles and changes to articles on basically anything. This will be like wikipedia sheered down to national and world history as well as the histories of important figures past and present. It will be strictly moderated to make sure that the information stays accurate and no information will be allowed on it that does not include a reputable source.
